 Austrian zoologist Dr. Hans Hass, a well-known underwater moviemaker first started diving in the Red Sea.The theme of diving in the Red Sea is the Coral Reefs, and they are the main tourist attraction. The coral reefs almost 2,000 kilometer in length along the Red Sea cost are the fringing types. The reefs are in the form of fringes that lie parallel to the shoreline. They are remote from land forming underwater islands which extend to within a few feet of the water surface. The reefs are coral plates that differ in size from between 10 meters to 1 km. There are plenty coral isles in Sharm El Sheikh, Ras Mohamed, Gubal and Giftun. The Red Sea boasts tropical sun, warm water, stunning corals, colorful fish, and crystal visibility.
