underwater-signsOf course, you may have access to underwater helmets with radio communicators. But there is also an easy series of hand signals that you may master to speak underwater.

"OK" is like a normal OK at the surface; forefinger curled and touching end of thumb, other fingers spread wide. 

"Something is wrong" is like a "so-so" sign at the surface; with palm flat and fingers spread, tilt your whole hand to the left and right.

"Stop" is palm straight out, fingers together and straight up.

Want to say "Watch me" - point to your chest.  

Mean "you lead; I'll follow" - point with one finger in the direction you want your buddy to go. Move the same with the other hand, and place it directly behind the first hand.  

Comprehend "get with your buddy" is make a fist with each hand, then extend each forefinger. Set the forefingers together lengthwise.

Know "out of air" ' with the regulator still in your mouth, hold your palm flat and parallel to the ground. Move slashly in front of your neck.

"Low on air" make a fist in front of your upper belly with the regulator still in your mouth and move it up and to the center of your chest.  

"My ears are not equalizing" is turn your head slightly to the side and point at your ear.

Give the thumbs up meaning "let's go up".

Give the thumbs down meaning "let's go down".
